Q: Are your backpacks bulletproof?
A: GRKG™ backpacks are designed to hold NIJ IIIA-certified ballistic panels, which are tested to stop most handgun rounds (like 9mm, .40, .45, and .357). They’re not meant for high-powered rifles but provide a powerful layer of everyday protection.

Q: Are the ballistic panels included with every backpack?
A: Yes they are! Unlike some other companies that will sell you just the insert, our bags come with them. We are in the process of working on providing level III protection as an add on.

Q: Are they heavy or uncomfortable to wear?
A: Not at all. Our ballistic panels are made from ultra-light UHMWPE, a material that’s stronger than steel yet incredibly light. Kids can wear them comfortably all day without even noticing.

Q: Can I remove or replace the ballistic panel?
A: Yes. Each GRKG™ bag has a hidden interior sleeve designed for easy removal and replacement of the ballistic panel.

Q: Are these TSA/airport safe?
A: Yes. The ballistic panels are non-metallic (UHMWPE), meaning they’ll pass through metal detectors and are TSA-friendly for travel.

Q: What sizes are the backpacks?
A: Our current model fits a 12” x 18” panel, which also accommodates most laptops, folders, and school gear. It’s great for both students and adults.

Q: Can I wash the backpack?
A: Yes — just remove the ballistic panel first. We recommend spot-cleaning with mild soap and water to preserve the water-resistant hemp fabric.
